FILM FILM FILM
Coach Woodson pulled random film for this meeting. He assigned different reasonings as to what I was looking over this film.
I looked over the film as if I was looking to recruit an athlete, prepare for the next game(looking over the opponent’s film), and correct an athlete on film from previous practice and the previous game day. Coach Woodson explained there would be some things that I would not immediately recognize, and there were different things we had covered that I should know and be able to identify.
Recruiting an athlete:
I focused on the position being a corner that I was reviewing. I took notes on their speed, competency of their position, mannerisms, and build. In between me, I noted things that I noticed Coach Woodson asked questions in relation to things that I noticed the player had done wrong. We reverted to the purpose of the position. I also touched on how I would explain to the athlete the mistakes he made and how to correct them as well.
Looking over the opponent’s film
For this portion, we looked over offense and defense, not a specific position. I went more for general aspects when looking for specifics in this scenario.
Anytime we go over film and thoroughly look through the videos, the time flies by so quickly. We continued into the next meeting.

We went back to the same film from the previous meeting.
From our other meetings, I had gotten comfortable simply looking at one specific athlete and not the offense and the defense as a whole. So, when going over this I utilized my previous knowledge and stated things I noticed, such as:
A certain position is weak on a particular side
The snapper's weakness
The offensive line was slow to react.
The offensive line wasn’t as strong.
If the receivers are looking for the ball.
How long are the quarterbacks staying in the pocket?
How receptive is the defense responding to the offense packages?
Explaining what certain positions could have done better during the play.
We spent a lot of time on this scenario. I like these scenarios in the film. I am more so able to see the different aspects in moving form. I am able to compare it to other films as I go on as to what I should be looking for in certain scenarios. Tomorrow, we plan to spend the two meetings completing scenarios from random film.
