Welcome! My name is Daija Blanchard. I am currently a Tiffin graduate student pursuing an MBA in Sports Administration. I have been involved in sports world for many years. I received my bachelor's in Athletic Training from the University of Akron. I later realized I wanted more of an administrative role in sports. I have explored many different career options in the Sports Administration world, and I am continuing to discover more. I have always loved football as I have gained more knowledge about the sport. I decided to work towards the goal of becoming a collegiate football recruiter. I plan to gain as much experience as I can to eventually become a Director or Player Personnel/ Recruting for a BIG 10 school. I am glad we have the opportunity to seek insight from someone in the field and gain hands on experience. I hope you enjoy my updates, insight, and perspective. I am currently gaining experience with collegiate coach Thomas Woodson to better prepare me for the next steps in reaching my goal of becoming a collegiate football recruiter.

Sports Mentorship Work Plan
I am completing my Sports Mentorship experience virtually with Coach Thomas Woodson who is a Running back coach for Notre Dame College. Coach Woodson will guiding me through the ins and outs of recruiting as a collegiate football coach. Coach Woodson has a wide range of experience as a collegiate quarterback and as a collegiate football coach. I am very thankful and eager to work with him and learn as much as I can during this mentorship.

Work Plan
General Hours
Monday-Saturday *via Zoom/in-person; hours vary considering I set my own hours in my current position*
Meeting 1: 2p-4p

Meeting 2: 7p-9p
Main Duties
During this mentorship I will set goals and complete compenticies to track my progress in understanding recruiting. Each day we meet Coach Thomas plans to quiz me on the previous meeting we have. He explains he will not conintue to progress nor continue to my current knowledge until I am in full understanding of what we went over previous days. I will lead the meetings at the end of the weeks to display my confidence and ability to complete different tasks we covered during the week. I will dissect film and explain different formations within the film. I will explain my thought process when looking at specific position and the specific athletes.
Specific Goals and Learning Outcomes
Goals upon completion of my mentorship is to be able confidently dissect football film, understand formations, single out players,etc for scouting/recruiting purposes. I want to be so confident in my abilities I begin to apply for positions in recruiting.
