Touching Base

Unfortunately, since the school has closed, Coach Woodson has more time open for us to meet via Zoom. We may have two meetings per day on certain days. So, that’s exciting, though I know that means FILM, FILM, FILM, AND SOME MORE FILM.

This meeting we made up a schedule for the weeks to come, so we are more organized. Today was more so of a touching base, and we are getting organized.

Coach Woodson and I looked over positions that have been posted in the surrounding areas. We talked about prepping my resume and cover letter for positions that I was applying for. I talked about how I was nervous because I have been getting rejected for different positions I have been applying for. Coach Woodson mentioned there are often times it takes 100 “no’s “before you get a “yes”. I mentioned that I have become very impatient and frustrated as I am looking for positions. I enjoyed that we were able to talk more about positions that I am looking to apply for. I also enjoyed the advice. It can be very discouraging entering a new career field.

Another reason I really enjoy we had to complete a mentorship; I am able to get insight in my future career. I am also able to ask him questions whenever I have any. I get a great amount of advice from Coach Woodson. Again, I am very thankful for this experience. I was sort of nervous in the beginning thinking this was going to be more of a rigid experience being it is virtual. It is so easy to speak with Coach Woodson and I am gaining a lot of knowledge.
