Camps
When touching on camps today, I realized the importance and how students get recognized. Often students go to camps in their surrounding areas. Coach Woodson mentioned satellite camps. These camps are for students all over OH. They’re able to showcase their talents and possibly receive scholarships from the schools that are present. This is a great opportunity for many student athletes. Some may have not received the exposure needed for potential scholarships. Many positions I have applied for listed setting up camps as a job duty. I believe that it was a very important topic for this meeting. Coach Woodson mentioned him and other coaches often visited camps, and added different students to their recruiting list.
As I mentioned to Coach Woodson before, I wanted to make sure I am exposed to every student athlete I can to be able to provide such an opportunity. Many student athletes WISH to be able to compete at the collegiate level. Many are overlooked. I want to be able to make sure many are seen and able to be recruited. Often times this means the world to potential athletes and I want to be apart of that experience. I look at this career change as such a rewarding opportunity.
Meeting 2: 3 hrs
FILM
We spent a smaller amount of time on film today. Coach Woodson really led the film session. He went over many things I was not understanding with formations. It was a very relaxed film meeting.
