This meeting was very simple.
Coach Woodson went over different random film he had found. He went over our usual topics for the film.
We went over a scenario for looking over an opponent's film for gameday the following week as if I were an offense coach.
There is just a lot unpack as you're going through the film for an entire set of players compared to looking over just one player when recruiting. I had to pay attention to what the offense was doing and how the opponent's defense reacted to certain plays. Coach Woodson took over during the scenario to explain things I had missed.
It is so important to notice:
-The opponent's tendencies
-Star players
-SPECIAL TEAMS
-Injured players
-Play Execution

We started this meeting with the same scenario and the same film to go back and reiterate the importance of the bullets from the previous meeting.
Being able to see specific patterns the opponents use, your players may be able to break those patterns. When looking for star players, you are able to see how to defend them and work against them. Coach Woodson mentioned that oftentimes times, there isn't as much attention placed upon special teams. It's vital to know the athleticism of the kickers, punters, and kick returners. Injured players, you will know who you are up against. Coach Woodson explains play execution is essential as well. There may be exposure to poor techniques you can capitalize on.

During this second meeting, we went back to the same scenario again with a different film. We spent time looking over the special teams. Looking at it slowly, I was able to see the kicker. When we went through it again, I was able to focus on the kick returner. I noticed when the punter was weak, the team was able to play closer, return the ball and gain yardage. Also, importantly looking over special teams for the defense, you are able to get an idea of the best way to react to the offense. This scenario I believe is very important, and I am glad we took time to look over it.
