2 Meetings a Day Keeps the bad Recruiting Away

Meeting 1, starts with scenarios! I LOVE THE SCENARIOS! I believe those are the checkpoints of how far I have come. When I am able to go through the scenarios and explain/dissect the film presented I feel more motivated.

For these scenarios, we looked at the QB. Coach Woodson was a QB while he attended the University of Akron, so he had a lot of insight. We haven't ever really focused on the QB before, when we had isolated positions before. This learning point was more so than a scenario. We looked at strong QBs and weak QBs and how to analyze their movements. You are able to gather information by looking closely at the QB. You can determine which side he is weak on, and this gives a chance for your defense to sneak in and gain a pick 6. I believe this is critical to force the weak side and gain possession of the ball. We then looked over a video of a former player dissecting film.

Meeting, 2

For this meeting, we went over offense and defense positions. I then watched film from previous meetings, and I dissected the film just generally. I noted things I had noticed throughout these videos. I like it when I seem stuck or unsure; Coach Woodson steps in and guides me in the right direction rather than giving me the actual answer. I looked over the packages and formations and asked questions. It was a pretty successful meeting. I like that I was more so in control rather than Coach Woodson leading the meeting.
